A Fixed English Online course offers you a dynamic and interactive classroom experience, as well as access to premium online exercises that you can do in your time. You will improve your speaking and study different topics ranging from business to social English in a vibrant online environment.

With a fixed English Online course, you will be taught by the world’s leading English teaching experts in an inclusive and open environment, and you will reach your study goals with the help of instant and personalised feedback from your teacher during every live class.

By studying in small groups (with up to 10 students per class), you will experience a more intensive online learning experience, which is tailored to your needs. The consistency of studying each week with the same group and teacher will offer you a comfortable and open online environment in which you can develop your skills and improve your confidence with using the English language.

We offer students a 100% online English learning experience. Our online fixed course will help you improve your language skills and confidence so that you can use English with ease in your day-to-day life. You will study in small groups of maximum 10 students per class and you will be part of a vibrant and motivated online community that will help you reach your study goals with ease.

The duration of the fixed English Online course is 12 weeks and includes the following:

• 55-minute group classes with maximum 10 students per session. You will attend 2 of these classes per week for the entire duration of your course. These classes include a set topic and focus on speaking and listening tasks. You will learn with other students at the same level as you, and you will receive instant feedback on your speaking, grammar and vocabulary. At the end of each class, the teacher will share valuable class materials with you for additional practice.
  
  
• 25-minute grammar or pronunciation webinars called Live25 sessions. You can attend 4 of these webinars per month for the entire duration of your course. You can use these sessions as an opportunity for additional practice between your regular group classes - if you need extra help with understanding English verb tenses or how to use intonation in a sentence, Live25 sessions offer you the opportunity to advance your knowledge! You must book these sessions yourself whenever you wish to attend them.
  
  
• premium pre-class and post-class online exercises: each live class you attend includes access to premium online exercises that you complete before and after your live session with your teacher. These exercises will help you improve your reading, listening and vocabulary skills, as well as help you practise and revise what you have learnt after your class. In addition to this, you can also further practise your English skills with extra activities available inside your account.

You will learn with one of our expert British Council teachers. All our teachers are highly qualified and experienced British Council English teaching professionals. Our teachers are experienced in working with students from many different countries and are online teaching specialists. Teacher training takes place regularly and teaching quality is monitored and evaluated by a team of specialists to ensure we deliver the best learning experience possible.

You will have the same teacher for all of your classes within the same course. Studying with the same teacher and the same group of students each week offers a uniform and highly personalised approach to English learning that will help you reach your study goals faster. You will be able to track your progress easily and your teacher will offer you personalised and on-the-spot feedback during every live class.

You will have access to platform-generated certificates which include the total number of hours you studied with us and your CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level. These certificates are updated in real-time after every class you attend, and they can be downloaded at any time directly from your English Online account. There is no final examination necessary to obtain your certificate.

Our certificates bear the British Council logo and attest to your hard work as our student. You can share your certificate on your Linkedin page or download it to your device for personal use.

The duration of an fixed English Online course package is 12 weeks and includes 24 group classes. Your course will have a fixed start date and end date, as well as a fixed timetable, which you will be able to select when you register.

Once you have completed an English Online fixed course package, you can continue your studies with us by purchasing a new package and continuing with a new set of live classes and a new teacher and group of students.

With fixed English Online course, you will receive instant feedback by your teacher during every live class. This will help you understand your strong points and the areas you need to focus on more in order to reach your study goals.

You will also be assessed throughout the course by your teacher. Your first lesson will serve as an assessment of your level and this will help your teacher plan how to help you improve your English level.

In the middle of your course, you will have another assessment class where you will receive notes on your speaking and writing skills based on assigned tasks.

In the last class of your course, you will once again be assessed on your speaking skills.

At the end of your course, your teacher will inform you at which level you should continue your studies.

You will be asked to select your English level when you purchase your fixed English Online course. You can only complete your online payment and finish registering for your course once you have selected your level.

Our English Online course is aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the international standard for English language learning. 

A fixed English Online course package includes 24 group classes of online study, divided into 2 live classes per week, for a total duration of 12 weeks.

In addition to the live classes with your teacher, your English Online package also includes access to 4 Live25 grammar or pronunciation-based webinars per calendar month. These webinars must be booked individually by you and they are completely free!

With fixed English Online course, students have the opportunity of choosing their preferred timetable before they start their course. 

When you click to buy your fixed course package, you will be asked to choose your schedule from the timetable options available. Then, after you have successfully completed your payment, when you log in for the first time you will find all your upcoming classes pre-booked and ready for you to join them!

Please note it is not possible to change your timetable after your course has already started.

You can pay for your course online, directly with a credit or debit card or with Google Pay (for Android devices) or Apple Pay (for iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac). Other payment options are available in selected markets. 

You will gain access to your course immediately after the payment is confirmed.

If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of a successful payment, please reach out to Customer Support so we can assist you.

Yes, you can pay for fixed English Online course using an employer’s bank card, however please remember that your English Online student account must include your personal contact information (full name and email address).

After the payment is processed, you will be able to download a receipt directly from your English Online student account. This receipt can be edited to include your personal information or your company’s information (such as name, address and tax number), and will be immediately available to download.

To access your student portal and attend our live online classes, you will need: 

• a desktop/laptop computer (preferred) or a mobile device (tablet, smartphone)
• a reliable Internet connection 
• a headset or headphones with a built-in microphone 
• a working webcam 

If you want to join online classes, please also note:

English Online classes take place using the free and secure Zoom software. Please make sure to download Zoom to your device before your class begins.  

We recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to access the English Online platform as some portal features may not work as desired on other browsers. 

Your name on Zoom must perfectly match the name connected to your English Online account, otherwise teachers reserve the right to deny you access to your live class.

To ensure an optimal learning experience for all, our students must commit to respecting our virtual classroom rules. This means you must actively participate in your class and have your microphone and webcam turned on at all times, so that your teacher and the other students can interact with you freely, as they would in any face-to-face classroom.
