Pre-Intermediate themes (Level A2)

Being clear is an important part of communicating in English. At this Pre-Intermediate level, example themes include:

  • English for the workplace: Communicating confidently in real-life business meetings and presentations, and engaging in meaningful conversations with colleagues. 
  • English for travel: Asking for directions when you are travelling, discussing food and making restaurant bookings.
  • English for everyday: Improving your ability to express your ideas on arts and culture, and describing the world around you.

Intermediate themes (Level B1)

It is often a challenge to communicate in English in a large group, at work or in public. At this Intermediate level, example themes include:

  • English for the workplace: Conducting yourself professionally in job interviews, meetings, negotiations and presentations, and communicating your business ideas with confidence. 
  • English for travel: Learn to talk about the outside world, travel and culture. Engage with others and communicate your ideas.
  • English for everyday: Discuss real-world issues and improve your vocabulary and communication skills.

Upper Intermediate themes (Level B2)

Successful communication with others is an essential life skill. At this Upper Intermediate level, example themes include:

  • English for the workplace: Learn how to perform well in a job interviews and project presentations, communicating your ideas with clarity. Topics include science and technology. 
  • English for travel: Practise speaking in different travel situations and build your confidence. Work on tasks in various topics including art, culture, literature and cinema.
  • English for everyday: Express your feelings, tell stories, and respond to problems in discussions and debates. Learn to understanding the media better, and take part in enjoyable activities such as radio game-shows.

Advanced themes (Level C1)

In today's world, it is increasingly common to live or work with people from a range of cultural backgrounds. We need to develop mutual understanding and effective communication skills by using English as a language of commerce. At this Advanced level, example themes include:

  • English for the workplace: Explore new trends in learning and develop the right study skills. Learn memory boosting techniques so that you can communicate effectively at work, learn how to give detailed descriptions, and discuss real-life topics such as money and its impact on your life. 
  • English for travel: Explore and debate topics in government and politics, and analyse and compare different points of view.
  • English for everyday: Discover what your passions are. Explore interesting topics like Science, Space and Technology, TV and literature, or health and fitness.
